Founder of Israel’s political party The Democrats, formed from the merger of the Labour Party and Meretz, Yair Golan is now considered a central voice in Israel’s left-wing opposition to Benjamin Netanyahu’s government and one of the figures likely to play a major role in the upcoming national elections.
Praised for his actions on 7 October after voluntarily travelling to the south to rescue survivors trapped in the Nova Festival area, this former Chief of Staff of the Israel Defence Forces embodies the vision of a Jewish and democratic state by defending the rule of law and calling for an end to the occupation and renewed peace negotiations.

Devenu un héros en Israël depuis le 7-Octobre après s’être rendu volontairement dans le Sud pour sauver des survivants piégés dans la zone du Festival Nova, cet ancien chef d’état-major de Tsahal incarne la vision d’un État juif et démocratique en défendant l’État de droit et en dénonçant l’occupation des territoires palestiniens.
